Abstract: This article underscores the role of the media and the Internet which, although they encourage social debate, do not always offer access to reliable information or true knowledge. “All of the world’s knowledge” may seem to a single mouse click away, but information and knowledge are not the same. Indeed, an economic model based on data contributes to a certain decline in information and knowledge. Nevertheless, an alternative means of distributing information and knowledge can be envisioned that would begin with “media education” and with the mastery of new tools and new kinds of “informational intelligence”.
