Abstract: With the rapid development of the world and the increasing concerns of the environment, it is of great significance to study the environmental issues. Discourse--Historical Approach (DHA) is a kind of analysis method of Critical Discourse Analysis theory. It holds that the certain questions should be put into the specific historical period to find the answers. In this paper, the author chooses one environmental discourse form National Geographic magazine, and bond with the nowadays social environment, the research will be conducted by exploring Ruth Wodak’s DHA as the theoretical framework and UAM corpus tool as the search tool. Both in theoretical and practical level, this study has some significance. It not only proves that DHA theory can be used to analyze the environmental discourse, but also enrich the research method of ecological discourses analysis. Through the analysis of the selected environmental discourses sample, the main findings in this paper are as follows: language can reflect reality in many ways and exert influence on society through the appearance of ideology, and the interaction between language and environment would help human beings to construct ecological civilization from language ontology.
