Abstract: The application of colors is one of the most prominent artistic techniques in Eileen Chang's novels.In the process of the creation, she set off different colors and other visual images according to the atmosphere of the stories,the keynote of the affection, the plots-developing, the temperament of the characters, the psychological changes,etc.. Making use of psychological effects that brought on by the contrast, the transformation and the variation of the colors, the author communicate her emotional feelings and her life experiences with the readers, guide them to empathize with the roles, to step into the plots and to understand the connotation of the text in deep.
