Relative Clauses, Their Function and Distribution in ESL Student Writing

Abstract: An analysis of narrative and expository writing shows that despite the complexity of relative clauses, advanced level ESL students employ all three types of relative clauses--A, P, and S; however, their distribution is dependent on the nature of writing they are required to do.
