Abstract: more and more students are studying for a master degree in translation and interpreting in China nowadays. However, they would find themselves stagnant in their translation competence during the learning process. This paper, from the perspective of a translation student, provides an examination and reflection on the translation training we students have received from the aspects of curriculum, teaching mode and the spirit of both the teachers and students so as to explore why we are stagnant in our translation competence and attempts to propose some measures to solve this problem.
