Abstract: Lost on a Red Minibus to Taipo was an online novel serialized in Hong Kong Golden Forum in 2012. The novel was later turned into a box office success. However, the content of the Golden Forum, where the novel was first published, is often condemned as vulgar, and even nonsensical. This paper investigates the linguistic features and contextual meanings of the novel, and provides insight into the possible reasons for the success of the novel.
