Abstract: Christiane Nord is the representative of the second generation of German functional school. She learned the essence of her predecessors, Katharina Reiss, Hans Vermeer, Justra Holz Manttari, and formed her own unique Functional translation theory. The German functional school emphasizes that translation should be the primary principle in achieving translation function or purpose. This view breaks through the traditional "faithful" and "equivalence" of these translation standards. However, many critics have pointed out that functional schools are too concerned about the skopos rule and lack of attention to the original language features. To make up for this defect, Christiane Nord proposed a text analysis model and emphasized the role of the analysis.
