Abstract: This article presents the initial design and implementation of a parallel aligned corpus Old English- English. It addresses question related to the sources of the information for lemmatisation, tagging and annotation. It also discusses aspects of segmentation, translation, alignment, highlighting, automatisation and information retrieval. The conclusions drawn from the compilation of a pilot corpus are applicable to the final corpus.
