Abstract:
This article analyses the problems that come with an aging population and explores the role of elder mediation in addressing such issues. The article then evaluates the advantages of having elder mediation to resolve elder related disputes. The article further provides a comparative analysis of countries that use elder mediation and argues that, according to current research and practice, elder care mediation is a suitable means to resolve elder related disputes in Hong Kong. Finally, the article makes several social policy recommendations for resolving elder related disputes in Hong Kong.
