Abstract: Generally classifier has been used as a machine to crush raw materials and classify the suitable particle sizes throughout all industrial fields such as food, chemicals, and minerals. However, the technique for classifying micron-sized particles between 5 and 20 μm is many limitations. So far many theoretical and experimental studies have been performed to predict the particle size since the classifier is determined the particle size according to the internal flow. However, the desired particle size can be classified only by experiment until now. Also it is quite difficult to set the driving conditions. Therefore, in this study, a new technology for predicting the average particle size employed CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis and Taguchi method might be studied. The experimental results show the optimum operating conditions of classifier with 15μm average particle size.
