Abstract: In this study, an adaptive neuro fuzzy inference
system (ANFIS) model has been developed to predict the
material removal rate (MRR) of rotary tool electric discharge
machining (REDM). The experiments have been performed on
Al-SiC metal matrix composites prepared by stir casting
method. Discharge current, gap control, duty factor, tool
rotational speed and flushing pressure were chosen as the
process parameters to study the REDM performance in terms
of MRR. The developed model was found to predict the
material removal rate with a good degree of accuracy.
