Abstract:
The systems and softwaredevelopment industry is characterized by aparadigm of project failure. One of the knowncontributing causes of these project failures ispoor requirements engineering andmanagement, poor design strategy which hasbeen repeatedly and widely issued anddocumented. The above problems could beeasily countered by the Fuzzy logic, becausefuzzy logic has ability to deal with uncertaintyand multi valued logic e.g. an entity in aproblem domain has 0.5 possibility or 0.8possibility like that to be taken as a class,whereas in classical two valued logic, there isonly two possibility values either 0 or 1. So,quantization levels increases from 2 to morethan two, consequently the quantization errorwill reduce and there will be less informationloss at early stages of development. This paperalso explains the technique for tracking theprogress of the software project being builtand the technique for selecting an optimalPERT chart developed by using fuzzy logic.
