Abstract:

This study concerns on the development of a discrete event simulation model which is used to experiment a set of maintenance strategy at a Vehicle Inspection Centre. The maintenance strategies are evaluated in terms of customer waiting time. The construction of a computer simulation model is described in this paper where structural and process flow of a Vehicle Inspection Centre were identified and modeled. The simulation model is then refined by including several maintenance strategies. Preliminary results on customer waiting time based on identified maintenance strategies are presented to provide initial findings of the study.
