Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the effects of using STestMAP in identifying correct significance test. STestMAP or Statistical Test through MultimediA Procedure is a visual tool devised specifically for research students and researchers to assist them in identifying the correct significance tests. To elicit the data, the experimental design was employed in which the respondents were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. A prior knowledge test was administered to both groups followed by a pre-test. After that, different treatment was given to the two groups and the post test was administered at the end of the treatment. The sample consisted of forty-nine respondents from two public universities in Malaysia. Quantitative analysis was used to analyze the data. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test revealed significant differences in the pre-test and post-test for both the control group and experimental group. The Mann- Whitney U Test indicated insignificant difference when the gains for both groups were compared. This study concludes with some discussions on the findings and some suggestions for future research.
