Abstract:
A new developed distribution : negative binomial - two parameter weighted exponential (NB-TWE) is proposed in this work. It is established as a mixed NB distribution, TWE distribution. The NB-TWE distribution contains three special cases which are the negative binomial exponential, negative binomial gamma, and negative binomial Weibull distributions. This new distribution has decreasing and unimodal shapes of the probability mass function. We derive several properties of the proposed distribution which include the factorial moments and mean. The parameter estimation of the NB-TWE distribution via maximum likelihood method is also implemented. In application study, comparison among the NB-TWE, Poisson, and negative binomial distributions is carried out. From fitted distribution, the results show that the NB-TWE distribution can provide a better fit than the Poison, and negative binomial distribution.
