Abstract:

There is a growing body of evidence from both environmental and economic perspectives to support the need for better analytical tools for evaluating the remanufacturability of consumer products. This paper presents a novel mathematical model for evaluating and optimizing the economics of remanufacturing consumer products in the context of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation. This paper provides both the theoretical model and an example of its use in application.
