In this paper I aim to analyze some important arguments favouring Contextualism. Fred Dretske’s relevant alternative theory is explored to its best as a source for the origin of Contextualism. I have distinguished two types of Contextualism, Attributer contextualism and Conversational Contextualism. Indexicality of knowledge claims, yet another feature of Contextualism, has also been subjected to study. Objections to Conversational Contextualism are examined here in detail. Alternatives to Conversational Contextualism such as Internal Contextualism get a mention in this paper.
