Abstract:
The interpretation of philosophy under a varied form of representations, witnessed in the course of history is more or less the same in Heideggerian context - all but a misrepresentation of Being, fundamentally enrooted, he accused in metaphysics. To Heidegger, the metaphysical disclosure of the world overemphasized upon reason as the ultimate and accordingly underestimated the physical world as something illusory and nihilistic that does not matter at all in the ontological quest. To the worst of such revealing, modernity is colored with insecurity, the loss of the gods, the violence of technology, the loss of dwelling and homelessness – the destitutions of modernity as Heidegger calls. Metaphysics being ‘the absolutization of a horizon of disclosure’ misguided all philosophical systems that eventually robbed of the world with all its radiance. Interestingly, Heidegger’s call for overcoming Metaphysics contribute towards the therapeutic remedy – that is the recovery of our culture from its present destitutions, the ‘turning’ from modernity to an authentic post-modern age. This new path of thought or restoration of authenticity project in Heideggerian phenomenology then, targeted to lead us to a stage which is beyond metaphysical realm where Being radiates with ‘poiesis’. So that what is lost will be regained and the world becomes the essential dwelling place of Dasein.
