Abstract:
Vietnamese economy has developed tremendously since early 1990s, keeping its GDP growth rate over 7{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} for a long time. After a few years’ slow down due to the Asian Crisis, it re-developed at a high speed from 2002. Unfortunately, since the Subprime crisis broke out in 2007, its economy development went slow and kept no sign for recovery. Before the global crisis, HoChiMinh Stock Exchanges was established in 2000 and 5 years later, in the capital of Vietnam – Honoi, the Hanoi Stock Exchanges was open. These two markets did not evolve as quickly as expected. On the contrary, it is under developing process even it experienced more than ten years reforming. This paper discusses and analyzes the overview and present status of Vietnam Stock Market. By comparing with the China Stock Market, the similarities and differences between the two markets are figured out. Then, the reasons of underdevelopment of Vietnam Stock Market are generated.
