Abstract:

New and embedded software developments necessitate techniques to predict required reworks and forestall their occurrence as important aspects of project management. Furthermore, when a rework occurs, empirical knowledge is also required for making dynamic additions/deletions in the work process. Where possible, projects should predict rework occurrences and set adequate periods of time for their execution. This study determines the probability of re-executing an activity and the rate of delay caused by having to repeat it to predict the duration of a project. We show numerical calculation example and an application for PDCA and Education.
