Abstract:
ObjectMetrix is a systematic process which is based on practical approach for estimating software development effort. It has been implemented in various software industries especially those using object technology. Practitioners also found that ObjectMetrix is suitable for object-oriented software development process such as Rational Unified Process (RUP) because it provides detailed estimates for every specific phase, iteration and task. Unfortunately, in agile environment, the software development processes are not similar to RUP and the estimation processes have not been tested by ObjectMetrix. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to provide guidance to agile software practitioners on how to estimate software development effort by applying ObjectMetrix. The results indicate that ObjectMatrix can support agile environment and can be used successfully i estimating software development effort.
