Abstract: To respond faster and more efficiently to changing
business needs, many organizations move towards Enterprise
Application Integration, EAI, which over the years has proven to
be a very reliable integration solution realizing many of its
claimed benefits. The EAI implementation process is however
long, requiring clear objectives set, careful planning and
mobilization of a capable team. EAI Methodologies help ease this
process by defining a set of complete steps to ensure that projects
are kept on track and that right decisions are made. This
research paper explores the different facets of EAI and the need
for EAI. Improvements on an existing EAI methodology [22] will
be proposed and applied to an existing business in the form of a
case study. These improvements include investigation of EAI
tools and previous implementations, different types of integration
issues faced by enterprises and EAI tools evaluation.
