Abstract:

It is effective to recover wasted heat to reduce primary energy consumption. Because wasted heat sources are not necessarily located near heat demand, it is required to transport wasted heat from the source side to the demand side. The objective of this study is to examine the performance of heat transportation by means of solution transportation of ammonia-water solution, which is based on absorption refrigeration cycle. A experimental facility was employed to test the performance with 200m, 500m and 1000m distance. The results indicate that COP of the cycle holds the same nevertheless of the transportation distance. It means that the function of heat transportation does not decrease the absorption cycle performance at all.
