Abstract: In this study the performance analysis for the solar field of ISCC power plant in Kureimat, Egypt was performed. Integrated Solar Combined Cycle (ISCC) technology combines the benefits of solar energy with the benefits of a combined cycle. The solar resource partially substitutes the fossil fuel. The Kuraymat project has an overall capacity of 135 MW (115 MW combined cycle, 20 MW solar input). A model for the solar island was developed. The Solar field model was programmed in the Engineering Equation Solver, EES. The model predicts the solar field thermal output which is used as an additional heat input to the heat recovery steam generator, thus increasing electrical output with net positive effect on plant efficiency and the reduction of carbon emissions. The model was used to predict the solar field thermal output for selected days around the year. The model was validated using measured data from the plant records of year 2011. The results show agreement with measured solar field data. During the simulation many variables and design parameters are taken into consideration to study their influence in the plant’s performance. The effect of ambient temperature, DNI and incidence angle on the solar field thermal output and overall efficiency of the solar field was studied. The results showed that the solar field thermal output and overall efficiency of the solar field were increased with decreasing the incidence angle. However, the increasing of DNI increased them. On the other hand, the ambient temperature has no influence on both the solar field thermal output and overall efficiency of the solar field.
