Abstract: The hospitality and tourism management students required to take food safety classes to prepare them find related jobs in foodservice industries. But, how students perform food safety behavior after taking food safety classes? Understanding the factors affect food safety behavior can help students to better perform appropriate safe food handling. The purpose of this study is to understand the specific factors affect hospitality management students’ food safety behavior by using the health belief model (HBM). Six focus groups were held and the transcripts were used for content analysis to find the details about each HBM factor. The results can provide hospitality and tourism educators a guild to revise class syllabus to better fit hospitality major students.
