Abstract: Ecotourism has been identified as one of the main attraction in the promotion of tourism in Malaysia. Despite having a number of breath-taking lakes, most of the well known ecotourism resorts are located in coastal-based areas. Less attention is given to the lake-based ecotourism resorts causing neglected concern on the management issues which led to low occupancy rate. Meanwhile, scholars believe that organizational culture is important factor in effective management. However, there is lack of studies on the management area of ecotourism resorts especially on organizational culture. Thus, this paper will present the organizational culture of ecotourism resorts in an ecotourism area; Tasik Kenyir. First, it give background of Tasik Kenyir. Next it introduce organizational culture in perspective of ecotourism resort. Later, it will explain organizational values and practices. Finally, this paper will detail the organizational culture available in ecotourism resort based on findings established in Tasik Kenyir.
