Abstract: This paper presents a potential theoretical approachthat accounts for non-travel phenomena. Based on a review ofleisure constraint research, a hypothetical model is constructedregarding the relations among motivation, perceived constraints, negotiation effort, self-efficacy and the frequency of participationin travel. The model views “travel or non-travel” decisions as theresult of dynamic interaction processes among thesepsychological constructs.
Keywords: non-travel; leisure constraint; negotiation; selfefficacy
