Abstract: As a driver of traveler behavior, travel risk gains attention from academic and practitioner in the past decade. While a series of risk studies focus on terrorism, political instability, limited studies have focused on natural disaster and traveler perspectives. This study adopted a bottom up approach to identify the type of Natural disaster travel risk from Indonesian tourist. Hence a mixed method sequential approach was applied. Initially, 52 respondents completed a semi-structured interview in Qualitative phase. The results were then verified by 605 respondents in a mall intercept survey in Quantitative phase. This study shows there are seven types of travel risks associated with natural disaster context.
