Abstract:
Different commercial products have been used to improve the immune response, reduce heat stress and improve the antioxidant status of broilers, but up to now, the results have been inconsistent. In view of the above, this study was planned to test the impact of herbal products (Stresroak, Stresomix and Ayucee) and competitive product (Geriforte) as a feed supplement on the growth & performance of broilers. The product was supplied by M/s. Ayurvet Limited, Katha, Dist. Solan, Himachal Pradesh. Two hundred day-old commercial broiler chicks reared on deep litter system were employed for the study. The trial was for a duration of 6 weeks. The results revealed that supplementation of herbal performance enhancers significantly improved final body weight as compared to control group. The economic benefit analysis indicated an extra net gain of Rs. 1.27 per kg live weight in treated group over control group. In addition, meat quality analysis revealed that the products led to higher dressing percentage and better meat quality.
