Abstract:
Chlamydia-related diseases can have different course and clinical presentation. These pathogens can cause clearly manifested infections and clinically asymptomatic disorders, revealing only in adverse environmental conditions and declining immunity (3,5,10,13). In cases of reproduction disorders mainly Chlamydia suis and Chlamydia abortus are isolated. Infected animals show prolonged excretion of chlamydia, even up to 20 months. Reproductive disorders in pigs often have polyetiological base, as the most common coexisting infection are considered porcine circovirus (PCV-2) and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRSV) (12,14). The aim of this study was impact of Chlamydia suis infection affecting reproductive tract in sows.
