Abstract: Today, the research field of virtual collaboration technologies is becoming increasingly important. In this paper, a framework for virtual collaboration based on the intelligent space concept is presented. The proposed framework makes use of semantic information in order to increase the flexibility and context-awareness of the computational components that it supports. After the framework is presented, it will be shown that the framework has strong relations with cognitive info-communications (CogInfoCom), a new research field that investigates the synergies between infocommunications and the cognitive sciences, thus making it possible to convey feedback information of a broader scope to the user through non-conventional sensory channels.
