Abstract:
The purpose of this systematic review was to analyze the research about the health of women immigrants by marriage in South Korea. 52 studies published from 2009 to 2014 were selected and reviewed. Studies were categorized according to the specific research focus. Overall women immigrants by marriage were vulnerable to poor health, and disparities were present in disease prevalence rates and the overall level of health by nationality. Quality of life and acculturation were correlated with various aspects of health. The results provide valuable evidence for future intervention studies and better healthcare for women immigrants by marriage in South Korea.
