Abstract:
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a heart condition that causes an irregular and often abnormally fast heart rate. It is the most common arrhythmia worldwide and its incidence increases by age. The fibrillating patient who uses anticoagulant therapy, must pay attention to all the possible risks associated with it and to the complications that may occur. He/she has to be able to recognize the symptoms with which they arise. This study focused on patients with AF and complications of anticoagulant therapy. The study showed that the figure of a dedicated nurse is of great help for these patients and that the nurse-doctor close collaboration can improve their life expectancy
