Abstract:
Contemporary science supporting artificial intelligence dictates how humanoid robots can be expected to function as facilitators of human caring. What level of artificiality in intelligence should human caring machines have in order to function effectively as responsive to human patient care demands? This question demands an uncanny approach to humanoid nurse-robot technologies in which the focus on nursing, caring, and human-computer interface is blurred, and in so doing provide critical practice perspectives which can substitute and facilitate human nurse caring. In particular, required performance for the nursing robot for elderly care, will be discussed including the dialogue capability of a nursing robot.
