Abstract:
Introduction: Caring is considered to be core of nursing. Nurturing caring consciousness and capacity in nursing education is important as this is the first place for nursing students to learn about the most significant values and essence of their profession.
Aim: The aim of this qualitative study is to illuminate the current situation of caring and uncaring behaviors in faculty-student encounter from the perspective of nursing students, aiming to provide the basis for creating a caring environment in nursing education and cultivating nursing students' caring consciousness and capacity.
Method: Data was collected by semi-structured in-depth one-to-one interviews with 15 nursing students who were practicing in a teaching hospital in China, and analyzed with qualitative content analysis.
