Abstract: Each year worldwide, about 76,000 pregnant women die from preeclampsia and related hypertensive disorders. Maternal death could be prevented if women are equipped with knowledge and following preventive health practices. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of an educational module on women's knowledge and self-care practice about pre-eclmpsia among antenatal women attending El Manial Maternity Hospital, Cairo University Hospitals, Egypt. Design: quasi- experimental design one group Pre-test Post-test was used selected on 100 antenatal women diagnosed with preeclampsia. Tool: The tool included socio-demographic data, preeclampsia knowledge and self-care practices questionnaire (pre-post test). Results: Data analysis regarding level of knowledge revealed that the data results had accepted the hypothesis stated that “there will be a significant positive difference in the self-care practice scores of pre-eclamptic women after receiving the educational module”. Preeclampsia self-care practice scores also, were measured at baseline, after the educational module, and at 4 weeks follow up.conclusion: this study concluded that, most of preeclampsia women have a lack of knowledge and inadequate self care practice about preeclampsia. Therefore, educational intervention regarding preeclampsia in public or private healthcare sectors and community is essential to improve the deficit in knowledge and self care practice. Implementing the educational module is significantly improved the knowledge and practice of women and consequently will affect their health and their babies
