Abstract: The past few decades have revolutionalised the life style of human beings in the whole world. However this age of speed and competition has increased the stresses and strains which man is subjected to. Diabetes mellitus, a global public health problem, is now growing as anepidemic in both developed and developing countries. Health care professionals needto recognize the magnitude and seriousness of this disease and act as a catalyst inproviding care to those individuals with diabetes. Diet, exercise, weight loss, and ahealthy lifestyle remain essential in the initial and ongoing management of type 2diabetes. Healthy practices should be encouraged and a positive attitude should be reinforced.
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by high glucose levels in the blood. Glucose is an essential source of energy for the cells that support your muscles and tissues, but an overabundance of glucose can cause serious health problems. Pranayama Yoga, which focuses on breath control to restore balance in the body, may provide health benefits for diabetics. Pranayama Yoga has become a popular alternative treatment for the symptoms and management of diabetes. It is a technique that will strengthen the lungs, purges the toxins from the body and cures several diseases, including diabetes. One can control the rhythms of pranic energy with pranayama and achieve healthy body and mind. Regular practice of pranayama can cure diabetes by reducing blood sugar levels. The symptoms related to diabetes are also reduced to a great extent.
