Abstract: The phenomenon of the current lifestyle of children is leading towards unhealthy lifestyle practices, which includes the consumption of imbalanced diet, lack of fruits and vegetable intake, and lack of physical activities and has become the factor which contributes to the increase of obesity cases among children. A study on the development of health education programs by using quasi-experimental interrupted time series (ITS) design was conducted to explore the needs of parental involvement as a strategy that can influence the healthy growth and healthy behaviors among children. The result of the analysis shows that there is a significant difference between the weight status of the children with or without the parental involvement (p = 0.000), and there is a relationship between health behaviors of the children with the needs of parental involvement (p = 0.000). In conclusion, the involvement of the parents remains as the main issue to the strategy that influences the healthy growth and health behaviors of children. The study suggests that school health nurses to prepare more interesting health transformation promotional programs every week for the children with the involvements of their parents.
