Abstract:
Nurse practitioners provide the primary health care services to individuals, families, groups of clients, and communities. The purpose of this study was to assess the competency of nurse practitioners in health practice by self-report, the assessment by the trainee supervisors, and the clients’ perceptions of the nurse practitioner services. The participants were 225 trainees who studied at the Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Buddhachinaraj year 2011-2012. Logic model was applied to evaluate this research framework. The data were collected in April 2012 to December 2013 by the questionnaires and then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The self-competency were reported high level. The competency report of the trainee supervisors was a high level. The clients’ perception of nursing care was the high level. Consequently, there was a chance to see the nurses who listened to their health problems and other problems, explanation of self-care and seeking public health services. Moreover, the curriculum training strategy using the humanized care resulted in trainees who delivered health care to clients with the humanized health care in all aspects, which were having understanding of the community, understand villager, an increase their understanding of the client’s motivation to pursue health activities, can select and filter health.
