Abstract:The identity of London city was formed since 2000 bynatural influences, man-made layers, political and commercialaspects furthermore, there are patterns of layers of different building periods and cultures added into the urban fabric over the time. London is commonly described as the natural city planned over the times by many hands with great appreciation to natural elements and among those are the natural terrain, layers of green infrastructure of hills, tidal flows, the Main River and tributaries. The Thames River and its tributaries are the focus of this paper as the river played a great role in forming the image of London city over the time.
